In this episode, we are talking about social media page basics that will make a difference when engaged couples are searching for you. Hi, my name is Kristina Stubblefield. Okay, in today's episode, I am going to keep it short and sweet. But it is something that needs to be discussed. Are you ready? Here we go. social media channels. Raise your hand if it's been a couple years, a few years since you set up your Facebook page. That's what I thought. How about Instagram? What about LinkedIn? It may have not been as long for Pinterest, or any of the other social media platforms out there. But here's what I'm diving into today. Every once in a while these social media platforms make changes. Who knew. In all seriousness though, one of the things that I want to point out to people is although you may have set up your Facebook or Instagram, exactly the way it's supposed to have been back when you set it up, it's good every quarter, or at least every six months to go in and check out the details that are listed. In your profile. One of the biggest things is the cover art. Now I'll hand it to Instagram that the profile pictures I don't think ever changed. But Facebook, we can count maybe on two hands, the number of times the sizes have changed. For Facebook covers for event covers the group's covers, it's really important that on a regular basis, you go in and make sure that it looks the best it can look on those cover photos. But you also want to make sure that your contact information is as up to date as possible. If you've added new services, or you've adjusted your services, you want to make sure that that's updated in your story or under your description. This is why I really wanted to talk about this topic is sometimes we go set it up and we forget about it. That's the impression that a customer or potential customer looking at your business sees. And let me give you a newsflash how it looks on desktop is definitely not how it always looks on mobile. So make sure you pull up your Facebook page on your mobile device. Most of the time I see people's cover photos, and they're cut off, you probably did it on a desktop and never thought about going and pulling it up on mobile. But with 75 to 80 plus percent of traffic coming from mobile, you want to make sure your profiles look the best that they can possibly look. You don't want to miss out on an opportunity because someone judged to doing business with you based on how complete or how up to date, or how your social media platforms looked. So take a minute or two and go through each platform that you are on. I didn't say if you were active in any platform that you've ever set up for your business. You need to make sure that you can log into it. You need to double check all of the information that They are and look at your images. As far as your cover photos go, I'm even going to put you a little checklist. In the notes of this episode, you can go and you can download that. And you'll have a check sheet every quarter or six months to go back and double check this stuff. Now, if you see that an update comes out from one of the social media platforms, it's always good practice to go in and check your information after that update has rolled out, it can affect some of the items that's there. One of the other things that I'll talk a little bit more about is Facebook has rolled out features that may not have been there when you set up your profile, originally your page or profile, depending on what platform you're on. So just take that few minutes to invest in your own businesses marketing, to make sure your best foot forward, if there's people out there searching for you to be their wedding professional. So many people are making decisions just based on the content that's out on the worldwide web and that includes social media channels.
