Now, let's get into this marketing tool. That is a game changer for every business. I said it in the beginning. And I'm gonna say it again, I want you to pay close attention. Because I'm talking about Google My Business. First and foremost, if you do not have a Google My Business account for your business, please go and set it up immediately. at your earliest convenience. Maybe there is a listing out there on Google My Business for your business, but you have not claimed it yet. Please make sure you go and claim it it is a really important. And because I'm really honing in on not only you having a Google My Business, but that you're working it on a regular basis, I want to share with you some top statistics because any time I promote a tool, or software, or you spending time energy effort money on something, I really like to back it up with statistics. Now I know you all can say well, Christina Is that so? So that's what I'm going to go do. But if you're not familiar with me, sometimes you might need that little extra push. So let's take just a minute. And let's talk about Google has skyrocketed with their local searches. And local think of that for your local businesses, your local small businesses, but especially those in the wedding industry. Okay, so that's why I really want to dig into this topic. So here's a couple of statistics I'm going to share with you. First of all 500% increase in near me mobile searches 500%. Also, more than 900% growth in mobile searches for near me today or near me tonight. And this is what I'm talking about, for example, caterers near me, wedding planners, near me, venues near me today. Those are just examples of what I'm giving you. And there has been there's so many other statistics and there's been so many changes with Google search.

 

We could talk about this for quite a while but when I want to discuss is how you should be using your Google My Business account on a regular basis as I mentioned This is not one thing that you just go and set up. And then forget about it. Can't do that. So let's talk about that right now. So one of the things that I want to share with you is, Google My Business really gives you have the power to show up not only on Google searches, but also on Google Maps. Okay, so I mentioned, if you didn't have a Google My Business account, that you should create one immediately. What if you're not sure? Well, then I recommend you go out to Google. And you look up your business by typing your name in the search and seeing if something comes up, it's going to be over on the right hand side. It's called your Google knowledge panel, it's over on the right and it has a box around it. If you have a business listing there, there should be an option to claim ownership of your business listing. And you will want to make sure that you have access to your Google My Business account. Now, if you work with a marketing strategist or marketing professional like myself, no matter where they're located, you can give them access, but you don't give them ownership, you should always have ownership of any of your accounts like that. But right now we're talking about Google My Business. So if you do not have a way to access it, if you already have one created, and it already shows, it's claimed, you need to spend some time figuring out who has access to that maybe a family member helped you set it up, maybe a marketing professional that you're currently working with or that you used to work with. So you need to make sure you get access to that. Because the Google My Business dashboard, is where everything happens. And that's what I'm going to share with you today on this podcast, the options there, what you can do. And to get access to that just go to Christina stubblefield.com. So let's go through what Google My Business offers for you. Again, because you're being found in Google search, and on Google Maps, so it's really important that your information is there. And that's where I want to start with, if you already had an account, make sure you go through and check your information, your address, your phone number, your website, address, your email, your hours, all of that pertinent information, take the time to make sure it's correct. Google, my business makes it really easy to update that information, as long as you can access the dashboard. They also have a wonderful mobile app, it's very easy to use. And it makes messaging with people easier. And also Replying to Your reviews, which you can only do, you can reply to the reviews from the laptop or desktop dashboard. However, to message back and forth with a person, you must download their mobile app. Okay, they want you to download that mobile app. So let's talk about what information you can put in your business listing. So the first thing is, when you're logged into Google My Business, you have options over on the left hand side. So the number one thing I mentioned a while ago was information and that's in an info tab. So you want to make sure that all of that is correct. They are that I mentioned just a minute or so ago. Then you can also put photos up, you can put products up a picture of the product, the price as well as the link to purchase the product. You can also put as I mentioned photos, and I want to cover that in a little bit more detail. The photos, you can actually put interior exterior, you can put a cover photo up, you can add a video.

 

It is just a great way to showcase your business, especially to someone that hasn't been there before or doesn't know you. This is a great opportunity for them to see who you are what you're about. What does your business look like when they pull up to it? It is a great tool to utilize and that's why I say Every business has to have a Google My Business. In this account, and I'm going to tell you this much, when we when I have a new client that comes to me or I have someone that inquires about coming to me, one of the first things that I do is a marketing audit. And at the top of that checklist, is a Google My Business account, do they have one? Or do they not? And any type of marketing proposal or any marketing discussions, I assure you Google My Business as a part of that, that's how important it is. Because if you're going to spend any marketing dollars, you're going to fine tune your website, you're going to run ads on social media, so forth, and so on, eventually, someone's going to make it over and not remember your website address or not remember where you're located, they're going to do a Google search, and how you come up is really important. So let's go back in as I was talking about the dashboard, one of my favorite features that they offer is post. Some of you out there may not even realize this, you can post on Google My Business, just like you post are very similar to how you post on Facebook and Instagram.

here's something you may not know if you know you can post on it, you might not realize this, your post only last for seven days on Google My Business. Now why would Google do that? Because they're going to get you to come back once a week and do a new post because your other one's going to be gone. It is extremely important for every business out there. If you're listening to me, and you have a business, or you think you're going to start a business, this needs to be at the top of your marketing plan, your marketing strategy, your marketing efforts, however you want to word it posting once a week on Google, my business is that critical. It's it's just the bottom line. And sometimes it's hard to hear that. But it needs to be on your weekly to do list. I know that list is probably lengthy. But there are other ways to work on productivity and things like that, to alleviate some of that bottleneck, or how to get those lists done quicker. And we're gonna discuss some of that as we go with these episodes. But this is that important. So post, you can post a picture, you can post an update, you can post a video, you can post an event, you can post an offer, maybe you want, you're having a sale, and you want to post an offer. Now right now, with the pandemic going on, they also have one of the options in there is a COVID-19 update. So if there's something that you have going on with your business that has to do with the COVID-19, you can do an update on your Google My Business, which will immediately show and that's the importance of this, what I just said, it will immediately show if someone Google's you and you've made a post in the last seven days. That post is going to show up when they search for you on Google on your Google knowledge panel that's located over on the right hand side of the screen. I know this is a lot to take in. And if you're really shaking your head, or I just don't understand the maybe one of the best options is taking my step by step class that will walk you through it. I'm basically sitting right there next to you the whole time exactly how to set up a Google My Business account. One of the other things that you can do is you can add a product and post about that new product. There's so many different opportunities when you talk about posting on Google My Business. It's very easy to do. You can do it from the mobile app, or you can do it from a laptop or desktop or tablet for that matter. So one of the other things that I want to mention with Google My Business, you could also have your list of services. And that's so important because you're identifying to a person, whether you offer the services they're looking for or not. There's so much with this, honestly, there's so much and I get so excited about talking about Google My Business. Because I know if a person is set up on Google My Business and utilizes it every week, at least once a week, it can make a difference or it will make a difference for their business. That's why I get excited because I love tools and I love sharing with people tools that can make an immediate impact on your business. Because most people don't have a lot of time to work on their marketing. Even if you're working with a marketing professional, still having that collaboration, where you still share your personality within your post, especially on Google, my business is so important. And that's a topic for another day. But when a tool works, and you know, it works, you have statistics, and you have reporting, and you have previous customers, and you have current customers that all back this up. So it makes me really excited to share it with you all. It's a little bit different sharing it in a podcast episode, because I'm more of a visual person. But it's such a powerful tool that it needs to be talked about on a podcast. And that's exactly why I wanted it to be my next episode, because every wedding professional should be using Google My Business. So I want to touch base on a couple more things inside the Google My Business dashboard. There are two other things I want to share with you. Actually, there's going to be three, I mentioned earlier about reviews.

 

And there is a button in there where you can not only see your reviews, but you can reply to those. And now why would you want to reply to a review on Google My Business just shows your customer support your customer service, like that person took time to write a review, you should take time to respond to it. Whether it's a quick thank you, I really appreciate it. Or you want to write a whole paragraph, you took time to reply that shows you're active in your business. And then it makes a difference to someone that wrote a review. I can be on the soapbox about reviews and replying to them for quite a while I really think it's important. The other thing is messages. So in order to message with potential customers or people that find you on Google My Business, as I mentioned before, you have to have the mobile app downloaded. It's very easy to do, it's a free app, go and do it. Especially if you own a business, you need to have the Google My Business app, once you have that app installed, that will give you notifications if someone has sent you a message. Or for that part. Also, if they write a review about you. The last piece I'm going to talk about in regards to Google My Business because I know your head is probably swimming about this topic, insights. Now, I also call that reporting. But Google My Business calls it insights. That's your traffic reports. How many people are seeing you every month on Google? What are they doing? Are they clicking on your website? Are they clicking to call you? Are they clicking for directions? Also, it will tell you how many people are seeing your business on search, versus how many people are seeing them on Google Maps. The other thing too, is how did they see your profile on Google My Business. And that just gives you information that will go into all of your reporting, especially if you're running paid campaigns, free campaigns, setting up at wedding shows, networking, you know, it shows you how your traffic is coming about on Google. And that is a really valuable tool that Google My Business has in here. And all of this is free. As I mentioned, it's all free. And to be able to use this to market your business. That's why I say every business not only needs this, but needs to be using it on a consistent basis, you will hear me use that word consistent a lot. But that's what makes marketing work. Consistency, not one post on Facebook or Instagram or on Google My Business and the next thing you know, your all your traffic and you've got all these people wanting your services, if that happens to you. Awesome. Does that normally happen from one post on Facebook, Instagram or Google My Business? not normally. That's why I'm saying it. And I want every business out there then hears my voice and beyond to succeed. I want to support those businesses. That is a whole reason I launched this podcast was to drop information that was marketing tips, tools, information, to help them grow their business and reach whatever goals they have set out for themselves.
